Gaza.

We extracted and analyzed over 25,000 articles published by leading English speaking Western media outlets in the United States, United Kingdom, France, and Germany, covering the events in Gaza during the war's first year (October 2023 to October 2024). Our goal is to identify recurring linguistic associations that construct dominant narratives.

Using Association Rule Mining (ARM) with the Apriori algorithm, we identified terms that repeatedly appear together. These associations may indicate recurring framing patterns, but they do not establish intent, causality, or editorial coordination and require contextual interpretation.

Empowering regional voices to understand NLP processing.

Alongside this dataset, we host hands-on workshops with journalists from the Global South. We familiarize them with ARM analysis and the Apriori algorithm so they can begin mining our datasets independently.

The full dataset is accessible to all journalists, researchers, and activists on Kaggle. We strongly encourage completing a workshop beforehand, but it is not mandatory.
